Business Challenge: BlackVoices, (Subsidiary of the Tribune Company) a general interest web site for African-American adults needed an off-line promotional platform to achieve the following objectives:

  • Build BV brand awareness
  • Cultivate relationships with existing 500,000 members
  • Acquire new members
  • Facilitate off-line networking for members and the general public
  • Provide off-line tie-in opportunity for BV partners GM & HP
Our Role:

Concept Development

Created and implemented a promotional campaign that included email, outreach to professional organizations, television and radio

Turnkey Event Production

Solution:

ONE MEDIA assisted Black Voices in creating and implementing a multi-city technology themed networking event entitled the Digital Exchange that included:

  • Events were held at technology / science museums e.g. California Science Center
  • HP interactive digital imaging demos
  • GM vehicle displays with OnStar product demos
  • BV site demos via T1 lines
  • 500 + attendees per Event
  • African-American professionals
  • Email RSVP required for admittance & lead generation
  • Refreshments and live entertainment
  • Promotional tie-ins with local
  • Tribune media affiliates

Results:

  • The promotion was very successful
  • Capacity Attendance
  • Increased traffic on the BV site
  • New members & increased awareness of BV
  • GM was very please with the Digital Exchange as it was the first promotion as a BV client
